A personal message from Pink Shoe Founder, Helene Martin Gee
Pink Shoe has achieved a lot since its launch in 2007 and I’m honoured to be the founder of such a dynamic and inspirational organisation.
My vision was to create a place where women and men from all sectors, backgrounds, professions and cultures could connect and exchange ideas and opportunities. Contributing to the lifelong development of women and building a better future for all.
It’s growing far beyond my initial hopes and aspirations. To focus on just some of our achievements to date, there is the development of the first UK Economic Blueprint for Women, bringing together an extraordinary group of people, all giving their time to make this happen; the BoardAble programme, making real progress on greater diversity in public appointments and boardrooms, now recruiting its fourth cohort for 2017; our Protégées and Pink Potentials, nurturing exceptional future talent; and Menternships for those seeking to return to work or change career.
With a group of brilliant Trustees we’ve established the Pink Sky Foundation where this legacy work resides. We’ve developed global and local partnerships with organisations both large and small, all adding immeasurable value to our work and the achievements we strive for.
At its heart, Pink Shoe is of course a networking club for leading women – and increasingly men – who are making a tangible contribution to the world.
Without its delightful members Pink Shoe would not exist. It’s thanks to our awesome Ambassadors that we’re able enjoy so many stunning Pink Shoe events and deliver our rewarding legacy projects.
So a big thank you to each and every Pink Shoe member and to all our special partners and friends. This year is our 10th Anniversary, as you’d expect I’m planning some exceptional events to celebrate, so watch this space!
